Meet Julia Bingham, Project Engineer at FORMA.

Growing up in the East Bay and now looking for a place to land in San Francisco, Julia came to FORMA drawn by something straightforward: a genuine interest in how things get built and a desire to watch projects move from concept to reality. She’s been a project engineer at FORMA for about a month, working on special projects, and is already tracking a Hillsborough ADU from its earliest stages.

“Working on the Hillsborough ADU has been my favorite project so far,” she says, “and I am happy that I will be able to see it through from the beginning stages.” It’s a telling answer for someone new to the role, the one she has ownership over, the one she’ll be able to follow all the way through.

Ask Julia what the FORMA culture feels like after one month, and she doesn’t reach for abstractions. She describes it as collaborative, innovative, and motivating, and credits the team’s accessibility and willingness to help with making the transition into both a new city and a new role feel genuinely smooth. For someone finding their footing in a new place, that matters.

What stands out about Julia, even from a brief conversation, is the range of things she’s quietly accomplished. She has her scuba diving license. She traveled to Belize earlier this year and immediately named it one of the best places she’s ever visited. She runs and hikes in the summer, skis in the winter, and has two languages on her to-learn list: Spanish and Italian.

At FORMA, Julia is at the beginning of her time with the team and, by the sound of it, exactly where she wants to be: following a project from the ground up, learning as it goes, and watching it become something real.
