Perched on the most sought-after block in Dolores Heights, 328 Cumberland was meticulously rebuilt over five years and now has four bedrooms, four full and two half baths, and approximately 4,160 sqft.

The design and construction team overcame impressive obstacles to expand from 1,500 to 4,300 square feet, transforming the zero-lot line home and necessitating the strategic underpinning of neighboring structures to create an additional subterranean level beneath the garage. Infrastructural upgrades involved meticulously excavating 650 cubic yards of soil, equivalent to approximately 80 substantial transport trucks. It also required drilling 21 piles at depths of 40 to 50 feet and 26 piers descending 25 feet; the endeavor demanded 300 yards of concrete (equal to 33 concrete trucks). To fortify the property’s perimeter, 1,880 linear feet of steel soldier beams were meticulously embedded.

The home has been reimagined from the ground up and encompasses entirely new systems and infrastructure. Every facet has been thoughtfully integrated, from cutting-edge AV solutions to sophisticated lighting controls. Outdoor spaces were thoughtfully expanded throughout each level, including the addition of the home’s crown jewel, an enviable rooftop terrace with glass railings ensuring the captivating views remain uninterrupted.

This renovation weathered the challenges of entitlements and the disruptive impact of COVID-19 and has been artfully transformed into a modern family home through innovation, determination, and craft.
