Employee Spotlight: Lawrence Motta

Meet Lawrence Motta, General Manager at FORMA

Lawrence Motta was born in Oakland, raised just outside of Washington D.C and now resides in Martinez, California! He graduated from the University of Maryland as well as the San Francisco Art Institute. On the weekends, you can find Lawrence building furniture in his shop, spending time with his four grandchildren, practicing his cooking skills or teaching Philippine Martial Arts—which he’s done for 42 years!

Q: Why did you choose to work in this industry?

A: I took a summer job that quickly turned into a career. I love to work with my hands and construction engages every part of the mind and body.

Q: How long have you worked at FORMA?

A: I’ve worked at FORMA for 19 months

Q: What do you enjoy the most about working for FORMA?

A: The people.

Q: What has been your favorite project so far?

A: Sky House. I’m currently the project manager there and I love the scale, complexity, clients and the FORMA team that’s on site.
