Employee Spotlight: Monica Teran

FORMA is excited to share the first of our Employee Spotlight Series! Meet Monica, one of FORMA’s Assistant Project Managers.

Monica was born in Ecuador and currently lives in San Francisco. She was inspired by her father, who was an architect, to join the architecture industry. Growing up, her favorite pastime was to color his old plans and read Architectural Digest. Monica enjoys reading, meditating, and going on long hikes in her free time. 

Q: How long have you served as Assistant Project Manager at FORMA? What are your daily responsibilities in this role?

A: I have been with FORMA for 11 months. I coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, designers, and the site superintendent to ensure the successful completion of planned scopes of work. I manage material purchases, code monthly invoices, process submittals, and manage project documentation and compliance with city agencies. 

Q: What do you enjoy most about working for FORMA? 

A: The people. FORMA’s founder, Victor Mezhvinsky, has done a fantastic job leading and gathering a great group of experienced, dedicated, and big-hearted people. 

Q: What has been your favorite project so far? 

A: All my projects are in progress; however, working on high-end projects is a great opportunity to collaborate with talented architects, designers, and highly skilled subcontractors. I especially enjoy the creative process and seeing beautiful projects come to fruition.

Q: What parts of FORMA’s mission resonate with you the most?

A: Relationships and respect. Victor is passionate about developing relationships based on integrity and building trust with every person FORMA works with. I believe that respect is a fundamental value; by respecting our processes, our people, and our clients, we will always produce great work.

Q: What is unique about working for FORMA? 

A: FORMA is a growing company with a great future vision. I can say that every FORMA employee has a passion for quality and a personal desire to constantly improve.

Q: How have you grown professionally since starting this job?

A: I am very lucky to continuously learn technical knowledge. Every day I am exposed to creative ways to solve challenges and to the expertise of the FORMA team. 

Q: What is something interesting no one knows about you? 

A: My favorite reading subjects are neuroscience and quantum physics.
