Lower Nob Hill | San Francisco
Perched above downtown San Francisco, this Beaux-Arts aerie has a storied history and was in need of a refresh. This total gut renovation of the 1,800-square-foot apartment is located in the Belgravia, a pre-war building in Lower Nob Hill in San Francisco. Working with Red Dot Studio, our approach was to honor the past with a mixture of irreverence and restraint. The renovation took cues from the 1913 Beaux-Arts building, which has elaborate details such as carved marble baseboards and intricate wood ceiling trim. The original layout was modestly tweaked, and the molding trim and finishes were refurbished. Updates included the kitchen, baths, master suite, closets, and library. Wallpaper was added at strategic locations, including on the ceiling, a blue lacquered built-in created a study and bar, and a wall of silvered mirror made the home uniquely suited to our clients.
