The Pre-War Condo | On the Boards

On the Boards: This historical penthouse, originally built by architect Samuel Lightner Hyman in 1926, features frieze detailing and Palladian windows on the exterior with panoramic vistas stretching as far as the Golden Gate Bridge to the Nob Hill and downtown skylines. Working closely with interior designer Sindhu Peruri and architect Sean Bailey, our team is completely transforming this penthouse for modern-day living by bringing this project down to the studs and rebuilding all while preserving the historic charm the Pre-War Condo possesses.

One of only two full-floor penthouses in San Francisco, this space spans to 5,000 square-feet.

Due to the project in this historic building, it came with its fair share of challenges. One being the size of the elevators. With the lack of size and space, our team resorted to removing the demo by crane!

To create more space, our team expanded through the attic, raising the ceiling from nine feet to 10 feet.
